The shock of State of the Union, Capra's last movie in a political vein, is its technical sloppiness.

Should be required viewing by every American of voting age before EACH election and primary. Excellent performances by Hepburn and Tracy that show the double-dealing, conniving realm of politics. All the "special" interest groups jockeying for power and control...and the voice of one man (and woman) struggling for honesty and integrity in the midst of it all.

Capra's last great work, this political thriller is an amazing study of politics. It features great performances from Katherine Hepburn and Spencer Tracy. The final scene is definitely something that's worth waiting for.

A personal favorite. Directed by Frank ("It's A Wonderful Life") Capra & starring the Tracy/Hepburn team along with a very young Angela Lansbury. If you get the chance, watch this movie which was made 65 years ago and compare Grant Matthews' speeches to the ones you heard during the 2012 Presidential campaigns..
