Teens will find much to like about Spud but older audiences may find it familiar.

Not quite as good as the book (should have been more of Vern/RainMan) but still pretty funny.

An excellent South African film that explores the adventures of a young boy growing up in Apartheid. The movie has many comical and many serious moments and is a great watch for the whole family!

I really liked the book and the movie wasn't half bad, but it seemed like it kept trying to be funny in places that weren't, thus making the parts that were supposed to be sad and emotional just kind of blah.

John Cleese has a role in this South African coming-of-age story. Fairly derivitive boarding school story, but entertaining. The chemistry between the boys works and the writing builds a keen friendship between the two underdogs.
