Spring 1941 (2007)

After Germany invades Poland and the Nazis order the confinement of all local Jews in the ghetto, medical doctor Artur Planck (Joseph Fiennes) manages to flee with his family, seeking refuge at the farm of Emilia (Kelly Harrison), their former grocer. With the Planck family hiding in her attic, Emilia finds her feelings for the physician growing stronger than she wants, or can control -- despite the dangers of the situation.

Set on a farmhouse, where a couple, the wife who can not pass her jewish heritage, hide out through the good nature of the young woman living there, but its clear, while doing a good deed, she will want more from the husband, who takes a active role helping run the farm, while holding out with the wife and child, as time passes, the husband whom starts having a relationship with the woman will have to make tough desisions. a well made film and a intimite drama, focusing on a story of wartime, some tough moments move story along, and all concerned give it there all.

Depressing as can be Spring 1941 leaves viewers fighting back tears of anger and sadness. Playing on the emotions of the Nazi crimes Spring 1941 easily evokes emotion but feels a bit cliche which in the end really hurts it's overall effect. Still a fine movie in the WWII library even if a bit forced.

very moving peace. it is hard to believe that this happened. and to have happen to people I know. this move is a must see so that we don't repeat the past. I hugged my children close and said a prayer to God that we are all safe.

This is a nicely done story about one family's struggle to survive as the Nazis took over Poland. It is a tragic story and won't appeal to everyone.
