I had Expected more. Left the Cinema feeling slightly underwhelmed. Shame really as the cast was pretty much a perfect fit. It felt insincere and overly indulgent in places.

Mad for it, well not really. After Shane Meadows' embarrassing documentary, this is like a Children's Foundation movie from the 1970s. It celebrates the seminal 1990 gig the Roses played at Spike Island in Widnes. Telling it from a paper-thin story of the most one-dimensional characters you've ever seen. They're scallies who would have been dropped from Brookside for being unbelievable. You may however smile at the fond recreation of the haircuts, pills and baggy jeans. The heady whirl of the Roses' first album played throughout is a treat - the only one.

Stylishly shot and features an expectedly strong soundtrack, but the script feels contrived and the clichéd voiceover is rather annoying.
