I am still desperately trying to get my hands on this film. It looks like Amazon is the only place that has it available, for a pretty penny too. Okay the date is June 7, 2012 and I just watched this movie. It wasn't as good as I thought it would be and to me isn't one of Verhoeven's best films.

Before Black Book, there was this powerful WWII epic about the Dutch on the defensive. Rutger Hauer turns in a career defining performance, in which he speaks both dutch and english. The central friendship of this film is quite palpable, and it provides a powerful look at patriotism, and pride, and how people may be inclined to fight for their homeland. One of the most under-rated, less known WWII films, finished off with a very cozy, and very triumphant atmosphere of celebration.
