Soldier of Orange offers an involving look at the horrors of war.

I've started watching Verhoeven movies and found this. I need to watch it again. The soundtrack is still sounding in my head. Made me feel dumb after watching Black Book. I expected something similar and found much more. Now what i find hard is to relate this to Robocop and the american movies Verhoeven has made... This is making me think... and that's good XD

Verhoeven directed a great film. He and Hauer do good work together.

Long before his fantastic Black Book, Paul Verhoeven touched upon WWII with this incendiary feature about the war seen through the view of several Dutch men. Whether it's this or Showgirls, Verhoeven truly is a master filmmaker.

I am of the opinion that Paul Verhoeven should now and forever stay the hell away from the American movie industry, and just make films about the Dutch Resistance.
