I know, being a huge Argento fan, that I shouldn't like this. But I can't help myself. Its a lot of fun.

Classic Argento. I especially love the fact the serial killer is using George Orwell's 'Animal Farm' as a reference. The gore/blood/death effects are before their time. And some of the shots & ideas are genius. It's just a shame there is something lacking...

One of Argento's dullest and most lifeless films. It's a good thing Max Von Sydow was cast because he is almost literally the movie's only saving grace. He takes bad material and somehow finds solid character drive, creating the film's one and only likable character. Chalk the rest of this film up to poorly written dialogue for poorly drawn characters and ugly, illogical murder sequences which share none of the excitement or style with Argento's more creative giallos. Slow and borish, and best to avoid.

It says written and directed by Dario Argento but he isn't capable of such boring garbage. Therefore, I can only assume there's another Dario Argento, his family was held at gunpoint, or he was having a bad day. Either way it's not good.
