Argento's fans were hoping for a return to his giallo success of the seventies, and yet here his modern sensibilities and toned down artistic expression leave most fans a bit on the negative. Many of the deaths and suspense scenes seem too light and the ending is a mess, but aside from that there's a great Goblin score and a few bits of Argento's trademark style and shock violence. He's hindered by a low budget and a script that doesn't do enough with the giallo formula, which means its strictly mid-level Argento, far from his prime, but not at his worst either.

Effective, cleverly shot giallo thriller from Dario Argento. It's perhaps a little overlong, but keeps you guessing about the killers identity throughout and Max Von Sydow gives and enjoyable performance.

it's like a car chase reel but with people being chased instead and a dodgy score. oh dear mr argento... oh dear. watch his older stuff!

Catch me on a good day and I'll even say this is Dario's best film since Tenebrae. You can't fault the guy for ripping himself off and delivering a piece that his fans have longed for. The Goblin Score is a show stopper. PS it's NOHOSONNO not SLEEPLESS
