Sign of the Pagan (1954)

Roman centurion Marcian is captured by Attila the Hun en route to Constantinople, but escapes. On arrival, he finds the eastern Roman emperor Theodosius plotting with Attila to look the other way while the latter marches against Rome. But Marcian gains the favor of Pulcheria, lovely sister of Theodosius, who favors a united Empire.

the best film of jack palance! though politically incorrect at some scenes, palance captured his audience in an enthralling portrayal of the scourge of god.

** (out of four) Jack Palance plays Atilla the Hun as he tries to conquer the divided Roman Empire. But, two things mar his way...the beautiful Princess Pulcheria (Ludmilla Tcherina) and the fearless Marcian (Jeff Chandler). Can Palance stop the spread of christianity? What do you think?

Typical Hollywood historical abomination but enjoyable nonetheless with Palance having a ball as the King Of The Huns. For all his faults though, Attila still has better qualities than the back-stabbing Romans and you cant help rooting for him.

A Great Monumental Movie with a fantastic Battle, Great Reqisites, Great Actors and a fascinating Story it also shows how dumb are War and Destruction, how the Christinay has saved Lives and spread Peace before it turns around and take Lives and spread War and how dumb and superstitious Barbarians are they turn around even though they can conquest Rome and their Stoppers are unarmed Christians just of their Fear from their God
