... passion fruit... Two best friends go on a vacation through wine country, and find the local women are just as appealing as the wine. Much like American Beauty, and Lost in Translation, Sideways is one of those rare comedies where the drama is just as thought out and observed as the humor. The characters are all very well realized and the laughs do not come at the expense of the drama. A marvel of deadpan comedic value.

A deeply human comedy about people fumbling their way toward love.

A wine tasting road trip to salute Jack's final days as a bachelor careens woefully sideways as he and Miles hit the gas en route to mid-life crises. The comically mismatched pair, who share little more than their history and a heady blend of failed potential and fading youth, soon find themselves drowning in wine and women. Emerging from a haze of pinot noir, wistful yearnings and trepidation about the future, the two inevitably collide with reality.

Another classic that will live forever. This film hit on so many brilliant ideas that it is like a beer on tap that runs over its edges of brilliance. This movie rocks!
