Score: A Hockey Musical (2010)

Seventeen-year old Farley has the stick-handling skills of the next Sidney Crosby. Not that Farley has any idea who Crosby is. He's led a sheltered life, homeschooled by parents whose idea of homework is trips to an art gallery or ashram. His best friend is Eve, the girl who's lived next door since they were both three. Much to the dismay of his parents, Farley loves to play shinny with the local rink rats. To their even greater dismay, Farley is signed to a major hockey league, where he achieves instant stardom, throwing him into a world of hype. Farley soon finds that hockey fame comes with a price, including the expectation to fight. Throw in a changing relationship with Eve – and Farley is losing his way.

This was hysterical. Funny, well-acted, just a great way to kill some time. I really enjoyed it. Lyrics like 'You're making a mistake, his tongue and saliva I did forsake' ... are *funny*. That's humorous! Geesh. Even hockey can be poked fun of. I can believe, however, that the hockey games are bogus -- I know nothing of hockey but do about music and can attest that the music-playing scenes were ridiculous, stands to reason the hockey was too. But it's OK, everything doesn't have to be realistic. This is a musical, for crying out loud: it *is* ludicrous; that's the point. eh?

This movie was an unbelievable piece of Canadian movie crap! I loved it! What could be better than an unknown kid making it to the big time. Oh yeah, a kid who makes it to the big time ... while singing about it! Watch this movie.

Love it! Love the style of the music, and I didn't find any parts were particularly forced. The 'love' aspect of it I found wasn't in there just so that they could say it was there, but rather it played an important role without overshadowing the entire plot. Loved it. :D:D
