Scarecrows (1988)

Five men heist the Camp Pendleton payroll and kidnap a pilot and his daughter, who are forced to fly them to Mexico. Enroute a double cross has one of the thieves parachute with the loot into an abandoned farm surrounded by strange scarecrows. The rest of the team jump after their loot and their former partner. Everything happens during the course of one very dark night.

This is no "Dark Night of the Scarecrow". A group of criminals pursue the money they lost on a spooky farm. The atmosphere of the eerie farm and the creepy scarecrows are well done and the story is even passable. But the acting is so awful and almost all of the characters are despicable. There's no one to care about and this seems to be a case of the filmmakers wanting to reward the viewer with merciless kills.

I can imagine someone pitching this movie to a studio executive: "And then someone throws a grenade at a dog! And there is a ton of infrared! Just nonstop infrared!"

This Movie Actually Scared The Crap Outta Me & My Older Sister When I Was About 14 Or 15.I Remember Being Half Way Impressed That This Was Better Than most of The Campy Horror That Ran On Joe Bob's Drive In Theatre.

God awful horror story about a group of ex-military bandits who crash land their plane in the middle of a Scarecrow possessed cornfield. Watch absent-mindedly as each outlaw is gruesomely picked off by the strawmen. Some nice gore effects won't keep you interested. VF.
