Created the Mumbai-Noir Genre.Cult Classic. Action, fun, drama well packaged. But it got soul. The characters are real. Relatable and lovable. Bhiku. Kallu mama. Chander. Satya. All of em. Movie gives life to Mumbai in many ways. Best ever movie by RGV. One of the best ever to come out of the country.

My favourite Hindi movie! what makes this movie brilliant is its simple depiction of the web of circumstances in the world - set in mumbai it drags the viewer into the circumstances of the protagonist, who even as a honest, simple man ends up as an outlaw whilst safeguarding his own self-respect. This movie - is what is 'MUMBAI'.

For the first time, the Indian audience saw a Hindi film which made them think about the issues which create an underworld don. Ram Gopal Varma established a world where gangsters were living a more miserable life than the people they ruled.

The only reason this movie is as good as it is because of Manoj Bajpai. What a brilliant performance. This is an almost perfect movie. Only if the character of Satya was a little strong with a good actor, it would have been perfect.
