It's not worth picking apart superficial inadequacies because in doing so you'd miss a masterpiece. Emotionally involving (thanks in large part to Kamal Hassan and Sridevi) and has one of the saddest bloody endings I can remember seeing.

Its THE MOST touching tragedy i've watched. Sterling performances!! Both Kamal and Sridevi have proved they are the masters of their craft. Wonderfull soul-stirring music too. Its a must-watch for lovers of serious cinema.

one of the Classics of hindi cinema, a story which strikes the right note & touches everyone heart..a very heart warming movie, & see it for sterling performance by sridevi & kamal hasan (watch out for him in the movies climax)

Great Story... Kamal Hassan, Sridevi at thier best. Last scene of this movie is so touching, i prefer to miss it when i see nxt time; otherwise i will make me cry again.
