An irregular yet effective movie. [Full review in Portuguese.]

The best Rodin film yet...but that is not saying much when one surveys all of the movies that have been made to date about my favourite sculptor. A much better Camille Claudel here than in previous versions. Very abrupt ending with too much left unresolved.

There is never any doubting Doillon's sincerity or artistry but his film is overly cerebral, unfolding in a series of encounters that fade to black and never build a dramatic momentum.

Carlos Boyero 24 May 2017

Rodin reduce itself to a monotonous succession of scenes. [Full review in Spanish]

They rather miss the point that Doillon presents Rodin and Claudel's relationship as a piece of beautiful marble that is slowly hewn away... Worse than the movie's so-called plodding-ness is its talkiness
