Rock Star (2001)

A wannabe rock star who fronts a Pennsylvania-based tribute band is devastated when his bandmates kick him out of the group he founded. Things begin to look up for Izzy when he is asked to join Steel Dragon, the heavy metal rockers he had been imitating for so long. This film is loosely based on the true story of the band Judas Priest.

So hilarious how Mark Wahlberg's character idolized and based all his career and vocal style on some heavy metal icon only to learn he was a homosexual. I just love that concept:) It seems like so many of the best musicians, even the ones most revered by the meanest, straightest guys, are sooo gay, kind of like Freddie Mercury:) I want to know those exercises his vocal coach gave him to hit those high notes:) THis is a gazillion time better than almost famous, which I rented just based on the cover, expecting a movie just like Rock Star and not the utter boring crap it turned out to be. Should get my wasted money and ninety some odd minutes back..

it's a really good movie but sad because it depicts that being a rockstar is hard because your away from your family and friends and the other people who love you for a long time while your on tour. if you don't beliebvee me then watch this movie!
