Rock Star (2001)

A wannabe rock star who fronts a Pennsylvania-based tribute band is devastated when his bandmates kick him out of the group he founded. Things begin to look up for Izzy when he is asked to join Steel Dragon, the heavy metal rockers he had been imitating for so long. As Triumph once said, "Follow Your Heart". As in Almost Famous it isn't just about the music. This one 'worked' for me.

Brilliant - lights off- volume UP UP UP! Best film soundtrack EVER!! Fight scene between the two tribute bands at the start of the film is hilkarious! If you like the Steel Dragon tunes and don't already know about Steelheart, check them out after watching the film.

I seem to be in the minority when I say I really enjoyed this film, but I found it really funny & rather realistic in the sense of the fame going to Chris' head - regardless of cliches.

mark wahlberg is one of my top 5 actors of all time. I loved this movie and i watch it all the time and never get sick of it. Make sure you watch some of the featurettes one containing one of the steel dragon rehearsals has them air jamming to marky mark and the funky bunch totally hilarious
