A fine start to a terrific and successful comedy series, this Hope/Crosby adventure is almost always on target and very balanced. Though sometimes awkwardly sexist, the relationship between the boys and Lamour is touchingly strong and sincere- though I think Bob's character gives up a little too soon near the end, making for a disappointingly compromised ending. Jerry Colonna steals the show with his outrageous long-winded piano scene.

Good. Real good. I especially love the scene where they tell Mima to get back into the house. It perfectly illustrated the boys' attitudes, carefree and caring.

Is there a better comedic legend than Bob Hope? I don't care when you were born...if you don't laugh at his jokes, you need to get a sense of humour.

First Road movie is more a blueprint than anything else, but has it's moments.

One of many Road to films with Crosby & Hope.
