Eccleston's performance is amazing, and Eddie Izzard is quite diverting. But there are a lot of problems with the film that they can't overcome simply with their considerable charisma.

Love this movie. Christopher Eccleston and Eddie Izzard both rocked in it (and though Derek Jacobi was a baddie, he also was amazing in it). And... Eccleston is pretty danged sexy in it too.

Adapted from the Jacobean play. This isn't Hamlet. An amazing caste breath life into a long dead play. It just doesn't work in a near future Liverpool run by evil Barons/mafia. Not very orginal concept and the costumes are pretty dire, even if this is a fun play to bring to a modern public.
