An intimate, often heartbreaking chronicle.

"The beauty of your particular approach is that you-- you actually weren't strategizing all of those things. You weren't living your life like a chess board. You were just dancing." Absolutely beautiful, aching, yet positively restless.

Seeing Whelan move with grace and elegance across the stage is as much storytelling as you need, but this all access documentary paints a full portrait and explains her importance in the field.

Serena Donadoni 24 May 2017

While acknowledging some missteps (such as jumping into a strenuous project too soon after surgery), Saffire and Schlesinger exhibit Whelan’s grace in dance and in life.

Wendy has a gentle soul and is obviously very humble and respectful of herself and those around her as shown in her interaction with others. At a time I when Hollywood is being exposed for its abuse of power, she's exactly the opposite. A shining example of making to the top and acting like you're just one of the others. Loved her and this movie about her.
