Rashida Jones and Hicks succeed in creating a lively and humble portrait of a true artist while revealing the struggles of aging and loss.

It’s an enjoyable and intermittently revelatory documentary that does a fine job of celebrating its subject’s accomplishments while never quite achieving the degree of intimacy that it strives for and occasionally pretends to achieve.

I didn't know very much about Quincy Jones, so this was really cool for me to watch and learn about this legend! The film focused mostly on his achievements and contributions, but I would've liked to see how his brain worked and more interviews with him.

I wish this had given a few more detials about his life, but while he is still alive it was important to have the current Quincy on screen for as long as possible.

In addition to its meandering through two overlong hours, it also ends up being maddeningly superficial, giving only the most cursory mention of several genuinely intriguing eras of Quincy Jones' truly epic life.
