My favorite Fassbinder film, based on my favorite Jean Genet story, with Jeanne Moreau singing a song based on an Oscar Wilde poem, promoted by a poster from Andy Warhol. Beautiful story of man on man sexuality, love, betrayal, manipulation and intense introspection. This ain't no "Brokeback Mountain"! It's something much, much more.

Fassbinder's last movie is an interesting movie. It has a pretty sexy gay sex scene in it, where Querelle takes it like a man! This movie has pretty good acting and direction. The sunsets in the background makeup for the slow bits!

It is far from perfect, but a rewarding experience nonetheless - amd a much better film than the derivative "Lola" and the convoluted "Veronika Voss" that preceded it. It is destined to become a cult classic.
