Purely Belter (2000)

Gerry and Sewell are broke. Gerry's still at school and Sewell is unemployed. They both wish for better things in life. Owning two season tickets to their beloved football club is their biggest dream of all. The tickets cost £1000 - they're £1000 short. But they are nothing if not resourceful, and they set themselves a mission to raise the cash. While they think up increasingly outlandish money making schemes - from selling junk to shoplifting and the odd bit of housebreaking - real life begins to interfere with the pair's final scam going hilariously awry landing them in jail, only to discover that their punishment gets them exactly where they want to be!

Not biased or nothing with the North Eastn theme, but this is so funny, We actually have seen Sewill at his new place of work and asked where his benchcoat was, he looked embarrassed haha...

This was pretty decent. I thought the story was great and the friendship between the two main character was both wonderful and believable. I also loved all the get rich quick schemes!! I won't really need to see this film again though.

Essentially it is kitchen sink realism. Flawed in many ways but gets the message across about football supporters getting priced out of the game. It was made some sixteen years ago and things have gotten even grimmer. Some decent gags, one liners and a cameo from Alan Shearer.

Hahaha half the cast from Byker Grove are in this. A lot of swearin in geordie accents make this film so funny!!! I love it, nearly pissed myself with laughter!

Brilliant! You'll laugh and you'll cry! Not sure whether it'll change your life, though, but it sure as heck lives up to its title (Newcastle slang for "Really good")!
