I really enjoyed this movie! Who doesn't love Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin? They are wonderful together playing three friends facing financial disaster when their pensions are taken away. Caine's character, Joe, is present when his bank gets robbed. But, the bank and the company they worled for are really the bad guys here. How are people supposed to live after retiring? Joe comes up with a preposterous idea and is met with much derision and resistance. The plot goes on from here and it is fun to watch these three try to solve their financial problems. Matt Dillon shows up as an FBI guy, Ann-Margret plays a love interest, and Christopher Lloyd plays a friend who has likely lost his mind. It is all great fun to watch. If you are an older person, don't let the negative reviews keep you from going.

Don’t think too much about the plot; it’s about as water-tight as a corporate-pension scheme. All three stars deliver exactly what you expect from them — nothing more, nothing new — but their onscreen familiarity is a strange comfort in itself.

GOING IN STYLE, 1979, was a classic when it first arrived and it remains a classic today, despite Hollywood's failed attempt to relaunch it with some changed script. GOING IN STYLE, 1979 is full of unexpected twists and plenty of real emotion, as felt by the three geriatrics. A great movie for all/family to enjoy as three veterans show us how acting can be accomplished.

The movie is funny because you see older people doing things you would not expect to see old people do like rob a bank or do things just unexpectedly. The movie has a good ending because they gave the money to people who needed it and the last robber after all his friends had died he spent the rest of his life in jail with people rather living alone.
