A little overbearing, though not entirely unwatchable. Good, but not great performances.

Extremely powerful and wrenching family drama in the line of Mike Leigh and Ken Loach's work. Huge performances by (at the time) child actor Harry Eden, Molly Parker and a certain 17-year-old, pre-POTC talented actress called Keira Knightley.

ok movie, filmed around where i grww up so some poignant landmarks if u lived in east ham, quite a heart renching story, but a bit slow in parts- not a bad watch, but didnt make me want to sit up in my chair!

the scenery reminded me of brazil SO many times. besides that, the movie was was complex and interesting. well done.
