Puccini is the joyously refreshing romancer that it tries so hard to be. Its success has a lot to do with its casting directors who have peopled both the major and minor roles with aplomb. Even off-off-Broadway legend Helen Hanft has a cameo.

This is pretty good. I loved when she says "Who would wanna live long" lol. Now thats funny. And its crazy how she ends up with a girl and a guy that know each other. I mean how often does that happen. This is one of my new favorites.

Gretchen Mol is terrible in this movie. But Elizabeth Reaser, who burst onto my radar with this one and hasn't yet dropped off, gives an intelligent performance I suspect anyone could relate to. Makes a great double-feature companion with Heather Graham's Gray Matters.

A modern bedroom farce: "Bisexuality certainly increases the geometric possibilities of the romantic comedy, completing its triangles and allowing for quadrangles and other, more amorphous layers of amorous involvement... The filmmaker's niftiest trick is in making a group of neurotic, self-involved, overly verbal people so engaging. But then, you have to like a movie in which nerdy (albeit attractive) characters couple and uncouple with the profligacy of rabbits as they learn to navigate the territory that lies between the heart and the mind." -- Kevin Crust, LA Times
