Prisoner's Daughter may boast a stellar cast, but the movie is fraught with anxious and unrealistic characters, a terribly misaligned script, and a redemption story that hangs on by a fraying thread.

If there’s one reason to see Prisoner’s Daughter, it’s Kate Beckinsale.

Sheila O'Malley 30 Jun 2023

Good scripts make you forget they are scripts. The script for Prisoner's Daughter is quite talky and never takes wing. You can almost see the words on the page, despite the strong efforts of Beckinsale and Cox.

Marco Vito Oddo 30 Jun 2023

While fans of Cox and Beckinsale‘s work might still enjoy some moments of Prisoner’s Daughter, the overall lack of polish in the script makes for a dull experience that’s filled with inconsistencies.

Brian Lowry 29 Jun 2023

For Cox, a veteran actor with no mountains left to climb and few concerns about speaking his mind, Prisoner’s Daughter plays like one of those movies where you just take the money and run.
