Postman Pat: The Movie (2014)

Like always, Postman Pat is happily going about his duty delivering letters and parcels around the fictional town of Greendale. One day, auditions for the TV talent show, "You're the One", are held in Greendale, which Pat manages to pass. With Pat required to be away from Greendale whilst participating in the contest, various Patbot 3000 robots are deployed to take Pat's postal duties. This soon turns out to be an evil plot to take over the world, which Pat must now stop.

Although I'm probably too old to watch a Postman Pat movie; it still managed to make me smile! The whole talent show storyline was a bit dumb to be totally honest, however I enjoyed the evil bad guy with the robot Pats storyline... It's really like two movies rolled into one and had they focused entirely on the latter it would have been a substantially better film. That aside I'm sure kids will enjoy it!

As children's entertainment, [it] is pretty wretched. Character designs are rudimentary, plot points are set up and never paid off, and halfway through the closing musical number the animators appear to forget that Pat is meant to be moving his lips.

Waste of energy to hate a movie for kids but felt like throttling the writers throughout. Although unnecessary in a good film, it is acceptable to have the odd joke or reference for adults but in this one that's all there was. There was nothing for the 3-5 age group. Nothing! They really don't care if someone evil becomes the CEO of a company. They want Pat to have a nice adventure on his way to delivering some letters. Dreadful.

I used to watch Postman Pat all the time when I when a kid. I was surprised to find out it had a film, hoping it would be awesome. It is. I don't care if I'm a teenager, I like this film, I like everything about it: the humour, the characters, the story, the animation, the pop culture and the amazing parody character of Simon Cowell! Seriously, if you liked Postman Pat so much when you were a kid, order the movie and it will be delivered to you (hopefully by Postman Pat)!
