Hilarious and engaging buddy comedy with a serious message about the real life impacts of oppressive social policies. It never becomes preachy, indeed it’s laugh out loud for almost all of its short, fast-paced length. The two leads are a revelation, the story works surprisingly well, and the dialogue is sharp and believable. There’s one gross-out scene involving a dare and a piercing but that’s as close as it comes to crossing the current line. Highly recommended.

While Plan B is not a perfect teen movie, it's one with a defiantly good heart and a vibrant, colorful atmosphere crafted by a talented director. On those grounds alone, this is a ride worth hopping on.

Every year seems to bring some new teen comedy that breaks through the clutter, showcasing new talent, and in this case, speaking to the times in a very specific way. 2021 is still young, but unless or until something better comes along, "Plan B" lays a pretty strong claim to that mantle.
