It's not often a movie comes along that I think is terrible. This one was unfortunately. I sort of understood the plot but it's so beyond unrealistic but trying to maintain some sort of reality, it just couldn't do it. Half way through I just couldn't see it going anywhere other than horribly wrong

The plot wasn't that consistent but the acting was good with a decent cast who deserved a better script.

None of it is convincing in the least, although the actors do as much as they can. "Phantom Halo" ends up feeling like a mash-up of two many other mediocre films.

With Phantom Halo, Bogdanovich, an actress who’s been playing bit parts since her first uncredited appearance in her father’s “The Last Picture Show,” shows that she has a knack for directing actors and building a visually appealing story.

With its cluttered plot and sub-stories, Phantom Halo manages to merge them into an exhilarating fusion towards the end. It is in fact sweet, touching and satisfying. Yet, its Tarantino-style elements are obvious and unsettling, and its Shakespearean vibe is pretentious.
