A satisfying and searing satire on the plight of poor farmers in India and the lack of sympathy or understanding of them by the rich and the powerful who have their own plans for national progress.

Okay: First off, this is not a "traditional" Bollywood movie, and there are no song and dance numbers. Still, I laughed out loud at a lot of the dialogue, especially between Natha's wife and mother. I swear, you normally don't see anywhere NEAR the kind of profanity and insult-comedy in Indian cinema as in this film. HOWEVER, the ending lacked, well....AN ENDING! It seemed like the director ran out of money or something, and rolled credits. Weird. And I have to wonder: Is all that is required of running a farm in India truly...sitting around smoking pot all day? (It's almost like this movie is the first real Bollywood "Stoner Comedy." LOL.)

hindi movie of the year for me ... loved the sarcasm and the dark comedy. memorable characters in the movie, and superb performances from a largely unknown cast works well ... a SLAP in the face of the media and the politicos ... send this to the oscars and the film fests ... this one will surely make a mark :D highly recommended
