Paragraph 175 (2000)

During the Nazi regime, there was widespread persecution of homosexual men, which started in 1871 with the Paragraph 175 of the German Penal Code. Thousands were murdered in concentration camps. This powerful and disturbing documentary, narrated by Rupert Everett, presents for the first time the largely untold testimonies of some of those who survived.

The tales told are bitter, horrific in detail...yet often leavened with irony and humor. Rupert Everett's low-key narration serves the film well.

I cried when one of the men talked about how hard it was to tell his father. He started crying and I felt so bad for him. I feel that we should definitely include all of humanity. And the guy that talked about how they put wood up his anus, that's terrible, absolutely terrible. I see my own country as secluding gays and lesbians and it is not christian, but not what the lord Jesus Christ would do. He accepted everyone even sinners. This movie will be one to remember, truly life-changing and thought provoking.

Documentary about nazi persecution of gay's and lesbians. This is an extraordinary film. Their treatment like most minorities under the nazi's was brutal and inhuman. You don't just see, you feel the pain the subjects of this documentary are still in. Harrowing to watch but an important film.

Fantastic documentary. Saw it at the Queer Film Fest in Vancouver a number of years back - and met the producers and stayed for the panel discussion. Was fascinating - and this story so needs to be told!

Very Good Documentary on Jew and Gays in Nazi. I do say if you don't have your napkins near you going to cry hard.
