It is an impressively staged and appropriately rain-soaked, mud-splattered, bone-crunching tale, more violent and filled with rougher language than its predecessor, if not quite as powerful or moving.

It was filmed with impressive care and the performances are good, if you're in the mood for starvation, madness and harsh physical cruelty.

A very good remake. It just slays me when I read the critics reviews. Most of them sound stupid just trying to sound intellectual--it's almost funny except their opinions hurt good movies and often help bad movies. I listen to public opinion before theirs

Incredibly engaging with solid character development right through to the conclusion. Well worth the time. This true story's conclusion is better than expected. Well acted.
