Great acting and a true story about all sides of a complex man and famous author .

This film is courageous and powerful. I grew up during this time and was riveted by the performances. These flawed characters touched me. This is real life and all so often Hollywood doesn't appreciate a story about 'old people'. I am thankful this story has been preserved on film and recommend it to everyone interested in Hemingway and Cuba.

Love the idea of a movie about the great writer, but the execution and rather poor casting makes you want to commit suicide.

There are elements of truth and sublimity, but it wanders too much into clichés and easy plot devices.

Papa shows a different side of the Hemingway story, which may be different from what you may expect from a movie about Hemingway. Adrian Sparks plays a great Hemingway and the movie was set in Hemingway's home in Cuba, taking you to a different time and place to experience this movie.
