Outside Ozona (1998)

A widowed trucker fends off isolation in the company of a dog named Girl, two bickering sisters try to reconcile their differences and a down-and-out circus clown and his stripper girlfriend must fight the temptation of crime on the road. Their common companion is an angry disc jockey at odds with a desperate boss. All these people will find their lives intertwined by the hand of fate. Several unconnected stories are held together by loose story threads, eventually intersecting on a barren highway. The whole thing reeks of made-for-TV movie and crawls along at a snail's pace. Occasionally the actor's do good with the material, but not often enough.

Had potential but it is apparent from early on that it won't realise it. Concept was interesting, but from the beginning the movie drifts and is quite dull. Ultimately seems contrived. Decent cast do their best, but are humstrung by the dull plot and listless direction.

Cringe inducing dialogue and predictable plot along with some oversimplified politics make for a barely watchable film. It's a shame because it's a decent cast. sherilyn fenn is in this, for all you peakers out there.
