Combine Stephen Chow and ghosts and you have a winning comedic film. One of his funniest.

this is still my favorite chinese horror movie... the sound effect makes it creepy, yet there is this comedy element that just doesn't go away in the entire movie. Is scary yet funny.

Now the feverish fuss about Asian horror has faded, but Out of the Dark reminds us of the golden years of the genre. With a deliciously surreal parody (putting to shame Hollywood counterparts).

Just an okay Stephen Chow. Not as good as I expected, even though Jeffrey Lau directs this. It is very short, but I also think that's as long as it can go. Parodies of Besson's "Leon" and Kar-Wai Wong's "Fallen Angels" (even Karen Mok appears as she is in the film) are not really funny. Pretty disappointing quality comparing to the gorgeous casts.
