John and Mary Sims are city-dwellers hit hard by the financial fist of The Depression. Driven by bravery (and sheer desperation) they flee to the country and, with the help of other workers, set up a farming community - a socialist mini-society. The newborn community suffers many hardships - drought, vicious raccoons and the long arm of the law - but ultimately pull together to reach a bread-based Utopia.

A fascinating, shocking, and interesting look into the meat industry.

Surreal and often shocking, a movie about he food you eat and see everyday on your plate, but when you watch it, you feel like it's filmed on the moon, the machinery and big scale, and emotionless boredom of repeating the same thing every hour, every day... So many animals... Everybody has to see it! The parts with animals made me very sad and I felt that6 my choice to not eat meat was right.

I saw it last year. I shouldn't watch this hangover sunday. I fell sleep..But I like how they film it. All the scenes are filmed like a landscape. I think just showing those process of the food brought to our table as how they are is actually one way of strongly appealing reality.
