Orca (1977)

After witnessing the killing of his mate and offspring at the hands of a reckless Irish captain, a vengeful killer whale rampages through the fisherman's Newfoundland harbor. This may be seen as a Jaws rip off. It's much more than that. The only realistic horror film i've ever seen. It really opened my eyes. i loved it.

This movie is so bad that it's good. I love it. The best scene is where the shark is about to eat the sailor like in Jaws and then ORCA pops up and eats the shark and the sailor. Skip through all the dialogue and just watch the killing scenes. Trust me it'll be a lot better.

Surprisingly good tale of the costs of revenge. It is not nearly as much of a "Jaws" rip-off as its reputation suggests. The filmmakers actually manage to develop the audience's sympathy for both Richard Harris' character and for the killer whale. Nice mix of real whale and rubber whale footage (which frankly looks more realistic than Bruce the Shark from "Jaws"). Still silly and hokey in parts, but more worthwhile than you average Jaws-clone.

84% "He loved his family more then I loved mine."-Nolan (Richard Harris) Great cast, Rampling is sexy as ever, and it has some very memorable scenes. I was rooting for the whale, Nolan was a thick headed douch bag. So long and thanks for all the fish.
