The found footage genre has been saturated since the days of "The Blair Witch Project (1999)." But, Johnson and his cast and crew make it fresh again in a nostalgic and old fashioned way.

A great deal of fun, mixing period antics with a contemporary cynicism that's both charming and effective. Its stumbles aside, it's a film well worth seeking out for its provocative storyline and fantastic visual and technical elements.

A clever offering in the "found film" genre, with an interesting story line, lots of terrific sight gags, ample good humor and a healthy dose of suspense thrown in for good measure. This release has breathed new life into a style of filmmaking that started out well but has grown progressively stale, predictable and uninteresting in recent years. Hats off to the creators of this fun little offering.

Operation Avalanche manages to successfully capture the 1960s look and feel very well, also while having an amazing car sequence and a decent amount of pretty good situational comedy. Matt Johnson has proved once again that he understands the mockumentary genre and can not only work within it, but enhance it as well.
