One More Time with Feeling (2016)

Andrew Dominik's One More Time With Feeling is a remarkable black and white documentary which chronicles the creation of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds' album Skeleton Tree. Originally a performance based concept, the film evolved into something much more significant as Dominik delved into the tragic backdrop of the writing and recording of the album. The result is stark, fragile and raw, and a true testament to an artist trying to find his way through the darkness. It documents the writing, recording and performing of Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds' sixteenth studio album, Skeleton Tree.

At times, I felt like I was not at a point yet that I could understand what I just watched. The movie is very deep and profoundly beautiful. It really deepened the album experience and it shed some light on Cave's view of life, death, and love.

It's a beautiful tribute to a lost child, and to love overriding death.

There are scenes where the camera in silently sweeping through the vacant spaces in the studio in such a way that you can't help by t be transfixed by the picture. The movie is chilling and raw, Cave is clearly recovering.

Emotionally thought provoking beautifully filmed. It happened to us, and it happened to him. Thank you for sharing this life experience your words were truthful and moving. Sound and site for the soul.

Nothing can give shape or closure to Cave—and that's OK. Watching him continue his ongoing search for existential answers is comfort enough.
