I am a bug Katherine Heigl fan so I was pretty excited to see this movie. I really enjoyed. Funny, witty, and she does a good job. I have yet to be disappointed in one of my her movies!

I actually really enjoyed this movie. I have been a long-time fan of the book series and I have to admit I was quite skeptical about how it would translate to the screen. As it turned out, the film is very true to the book, It has the same feel and the casting is excellent. Several of the characters, including Stephanie, Lula, Ranger and Grandma are spot on with how they are portrayed in the books. I cannot quite understand why this movie received such a harsh critical reception. It is exactly what it should be: something enjoyable to pass the time. As with any series, the real charm is in getting to know and love the characters. The first "episode" is almost always awkward, and this was not. I believe it deserves a much better reception than it has had. I hope people rent it, buy it , just plain watch it and read the books, if they have not already.
