The Warriors (1979)

Prominent gang leader Cyrus calls a meeting of New York's gangs to set aside their turf wars and take over the city. At the meeting, a rival leader kills Cyrus, but a Coney Island gang called the Warriors is wrongly blamed for Cyrus' death. Before you know it, the cops and every gangbanger in town is hot on the Warriors' trail.

The Warriors is a 1970s movie about a street gang that is on the run from other rival gangs after they're accused of killing one of the leaders of a gang. This movie was pretty low budget, but still quite entertaining considering this factor. The movie has a unique 70s style and vibe to it, with intense sequences of fights and violence, and was pretty well shot too.

I saw this movie almost two decades ago, and It's stuck in my mind ever since. It's cinematography sets the mood for the film so well, there isn't a need for large a amount tons of dialogue. I not only love this movie, I can feel it.

O filme da minha infância, sempre vou guardar no meu coração. Tudo nesse filme é ótimo, principalmente o começo, que introduz todas as gangues. Estão perdendo a oportunidade de criar um filme na mesma pegada que esse.

Entra di diritto e prepotentemente nei miei film preferiti! Walter Hill ha girato e realizzato un cult che ha segnato un'epoca e a distanza di decenni la pellicola è sempre favolosa. Il film parte a cannone gia dall'inizio con una bellissima sequenza dove i membri delle varie bande si preparano all'incontro e il tutto si accende definitivamente quando Cyrus viene ucciso. I Guerrieri, incolpati ingiustamente dell'attentato, si ritrovano costretti a scappare da tutte le altre bande e ogni cosa è gestita benissimo, i personaggi sono tutti fantastici e i costumi sono magnifici, uno dei punti forti del film. Bellissimo, l'unica pellicola che appena finita di vedere avrei voluto ricominciare a guardare subito. Magico.
