It's Wilko's peremptory, offbeat monologues that provide Oil City Confidential with its through-line and several of its funniest moments, not least when he describes the clouds and flames of the Shell Haven Refinery as "Miltonic"

A rip-roaring carpet ride with The Filth & The Fury's Julien Temple through the life and times of 70s British R&B act Dr Feelgood honours the band the way they wanted it; by taking the mick at every opportunity. Riotously funny and the music is all killer no filler.

What emerges is a film to rank alongside Temple's own Joe Strummer elegy 'The Future is Unwritten' as the very best in British rock documentary. Riveting, even if you don't like the music.

Tells the wondrous tale of Dr Feelgood's rise out of the thames delta, sticking two fingers up to the wet, prog rock era, raucously taking to the stage and shaking things up only for things to fall apart. part of the rock pantheon, director julian temple once again adds to their legend with a telling that is artistic but feels like the band memebers sat in a pub simply telling you their story. awesome

Simply the best rock documentary I've ever seen. Great anecdotes mixed with "cut scene" clips from old movies and gigs. Totally engrossing and massively enjoyable. Dr Feelgood were the antidote to the over pretentious music scene in the UK. Back to basic, aggressive rock delivered with real emotion. The film really is a masterpiece in that it captures the atmosphere of "four blokes in cheap suits" taking the UK by storm.
