Thrillingly shot docudrama about German mountain climbers pre-WWII. What I admired most about this film was how it dug into the details of how painful an activity climbing really is.

One of the best mountain climbing movies ever! (are there any real competition though? Cliffhanger, yeah right :) Would love to visit Bernese Alps one day. Amazing scenery.

My skin became prickly with anxiety from watching this. Says something about the implacability of the physical world. Also in a twist that seems echt German, bad things happen when a team member fails to measure properly.

A very well-made film about a doomed attempt to climb the Eiger. I am fascinated by mountain climbers and the story here does not disappoint. The last 20 minutes will have you chewing on your hand with nervous anticipation. Great shots of the mountain as well.

As good as they come. A wonderful film about a couple mountain climbers who put they're strength of friendship to the ultimate test, and try to be the first to reach the summit of a mountain in Germany. Very well acted.
