It doesn’t hurt that Peele’s latest boasts some of the most inspired alien design since H.R. Giger left his mark on the genre, or that Kaluuya’s eyes remain some of Hollywood’s most special effects, as “Nope” gets almost as much mileage from their weariness as “Get Out” squeezed from their clarity. It’s through them that “Nope” searches for a new way of seeing, returns the Haywoods to their rightful place in film history, and creates the rare Hollywood spectacle that doesn’t leave us looking for more.

the trill and anticipation of the movie is amazing it started off a lil slow but really started to speed up towards the end I really don't like how they beat the main villain its probably worse part about the movie but the build of for the moment was really good Expand

What I love about Jordan Peele's films is that you know he's messing with you. You want a straight narrative? Go see something else. If you can use your brain and dig deep enough, all sorts of interesting layers present themselves. I really loved the open-ended-ness of this film. It can be bizzare (in spades!) and still a very entertaining romp as an action thriller. For me the key question I keep coming back to is the allegorical connection between the alien beings and the lethal TV sitcom chimpanzee (what a f'ing deep and powerful concept). And that's why Peele is a true auteur -- he creates spectacles that have multiple layers for observant people to sort through. I will gladly watch anything he decides to create.

My first Jordan Peele film and it was everything I needed it to be. Didn’t need jump scares and excessive horror. The suspense alone kept me intrigued. All the key details that tie it all together was great. The alien reveal was a nice twist and the cinematography was beautifully done.

Nope may not be Jordan Peele's best movie to date, but it is his most enjoyable. A true summer movie spectacle meant to be writ large across the screen, giving us thrills, chills, laughs, and that most precious of things: movie magic.
