The final shot is amoung the most bittersweet to ever be captured on film. In the tradition of all great Fellini works, this is an episodic tale of how the world is a harmful place, but there are still good people. There is no director who makes you understand what it is truly like to be alive like Fellini does, as he meshes reality with imagination. Masterpiece

One of my favorite films. Massina (Mrs. Federico Fellini) gives one of the greatest, most heart-breaking, and most uplifting female screen performances I've ever seen.

A very raw and comedic look at the life of a determinedly idealistic prostitute. Fellini and Masina play with pathos gently here. It's bloody fantastic.

Fellini and his wife, the incredibly gifted actress, Giulietta Masina create pure magic. This film is a true gift to the film world. Simply Wonderful in every way! including it's rather haunting and slightly sad ending. The American musical SWEET CHARITY is based on this remarkable film.
