Fellini is a master. Masina is heartbreaking. A perfect movie.

A nearly perfect movie in every way. Giuletta Masina remains the most underrated actress in the history of cinema...or maybe I just resist her puppy dog eyes. In any case, I've now developed a pavlovian weeping response with the final shot...but it's a very funny film. A must for any one who loves movies.

Wow. Couldn't talk to people properly after I watched it...like meeting friends after a funeral. Fellini tells the story with unusual grace and reserve, knowing that the visual sensation here is Masina. For those who treat cinema as sceance: here.

Extraordinary Felini drama that features an excellent performance from Masina as a prostitute in Rome who searches for eternal love, but finds sadness instead. Was the basis for Neil Simon's Broadway musical and film, "Sweet Charity."

Amazing story by Fellini about the tragedy of Masina's prostituted character that is repeatedly betrayed by the surrounding world while never losing faith in her endless pursuit of love. Completely absorbing drama.
