Not by any means a good film,but it'll grow on the slasher fans as well as me. And its hard not to have any fun with it.

A classic example of the 80s slashers. In all honesty, not a horrible flick. The reveal of who the killer is is sorta cool. The acting, admittedly, is bad but it's a decent way to kill an hour and a half.

New Year's Evil wants you to think that it's just another one of the many holiday-themed 80's slashers, but I have my doubts about whether anyone involved had ever even seen a real slasher flick. The characters and plot are more reminiscent of a 70's made-for-TV crime drama. I'm not sure if they knew much about punk rock, either. Or film-making. All in all, a great movie to watch if you're in the mood for something embarrassingly bad; otherwise, avoid it.

New Year's Evil really is not a very good movie. But as a time capsule? Well, I'd be lying if I said it wasn't entirely watchable on that count.
