Teenage siblings Nenette and Boni were raised apart as a result of their parents' divorce. Their mother, who doted on her son Boni, has died. He works for an interesting couple as a pizza baker, and is surprised and enraged when his younger sister, having run away from boarding school, suddenly turns up. French director Claire Denis has fashioned a quietly thrilling, unexpectedly poignant film with Nenette et Boni, a simple tale of a family reunion that earns its distinction in the telling.

slow mesmerizing storytelling by Claire Denis. hidden sensuality. a soundtrack by the Tindersticks. Vincent Gallo and Valeria Bruni Tedeschi as supporting cast. one of the first movies i taped on VHS. the main actors already played siblings in Denis' segment 'US Go Home' two years before. Loved that one as well ..
