Muse (2017)

Samuel Salomon, a literature professor, has been off work for almost a year after the tragic death of his girlfriend. Samuel has been suffering from a recurring nightmare in which a woman is brutally murdered in a strange ritual. Suddenly, the same woman who appears every night in his dreams is found dead in exactly the same circumstances. Samuel sneaks into the crime scene and there he meets Rachel who has also dreamed about the murder. Together, they will do whatever they can to discover the identity of the mystery woman, entering a terrifying world controlled by the figures who have inspired artists throughout time: the Muses.

[The] narrator is unable to tell the story with emotion. [Full Review in Spanish]

hmmm. as long as the film borderlines inbetween reality and mysticism, this is a good movie making you wait for more. but as soon as the muses begin to explain to others (actually to you, the viewer) the tangled storyline, it´s turning into a really cheap, worn-out horrorflic.

Balaguero's efforts feel like a poor man's The Da Vinci Code.

Loved it. Maybe it has a bad horror classification; but as a supernatural thriller it really hits the mark. Neat twists, great hints and literary easter eggs, atmosphere and story. The ending fell a littlw flat compared to the overall experience but it's forgiven for the great way to handle the mistery

Barely reaches a superficial layer. [Full Review in Spanish]
