This has got to be the most intense film I've watched in more than a decade. Not a war movie, but the most genuine depiction of the veteran experience I've ever seen on the big screen. I urge all my veterans to watch this film. In an age where lines have been drawn in the sand through opposing political idealogies this film becomes more improtant than ever.

Very good movie; no surprises. It couldn't match the beautiful writing of Hillary Jordan,the author of the book. The book was so much better. book was so much better--

My vote for best film of 2017. Emotional and heartbreaking. Rees does a phenomenal job of slow rising action that explodes with visceral drama. Exquisite performances by all involved, each character with their own sruggle, obviously some rougher than others.
