The movie harvests so much new feeling from its tragic images of life and death in the Mississippi Delta that Rees' name belongs on any list of the year's best directors.

Beautifully crafted and well acted story depicting America the way it was and is.

I was so blown away by "Mudbound" that I had to see it twice in one night when it debuted in limited theaters. The entire cast is phenomenal and Dee Rees deserves to be the first African American woman nominated for Best Director at the Oscars! Kudos to Rachel Morrison as well for her exquisite cinematography as well.

Exceptional fucking movie!! This better win several oscars.

This is a big movie, about big emotions and ideas, which Rees evokes and explores through an extraordinarily rich tapestry of atmosphere, physical setting, visual detail and sensitive, subtle performances.
