Motorama (1991)

A ten year old boy gets tired of life with abusive parents and cashes in his piggy bank and steals a Mustang. He rides off into a surreal America playing "Motorama," a game sponsored by Chimera Gas Company. He has various encounters with different people, and eventually reaches the Chimera Gas Company where he finds they are not playing by the rules of the game.

Inexplicable beards. Eye patches. Cursing Ten-Year-olds. Meat Loaf, and not your mom's. This movie has it all, even a young Drew Barrymore in a bikini. I'd love to give this a higher rating, but there just aren't enough awesome one liners. Jack Nance has my second favorite of the film, the first involves the Ten-Year-Old protagonist dropping an F-Bomb. This is certainly the weirdest films I've ever seen, and I defy you finding one stranger. Not worse, strange.

Es un filme surrealista y colorido desarrollado en un lenguaje irreal, desenfadado y un poco oscuro, por estar lleno de símbolos y piezas sueltas. Pero es conmovedor inspirador y muy extraño.

una excelente peli independiente, una critica adelantada, un road movie intenso, con un protagonista que realmente sufre al volante... y solo tiene 10 aÃ±os. una joya del canal cinemax a las 3 AM.

pretty much the definition of offbeat. ten year old boy drives cross country, undergoes vaguely mystical experiences (which seem altogether Canadian, somehow)...unfocused but thoroughly compelling
