Mr. Silberling's vision never makes a seamless transfer to the screen.

With this kind of plot, it is commendable that the film doesn’t step into melodrama territory. Its screenplay by Brad Silberling has the right kind of intensity and insight. The dialogue here makes you think, and the theme is delivered without feeling forced.

This is my favorite movie ever. I just want to say that I loved Ellen Pompeo in this, and it was long before everyone jumped on her Grey's Anatomy bandwagon. Great supporting cast as well. Great lines. Some might call it over-the-top emotionally. I call it perfect.
