A blockbuster as big and hollow as the Moon itself; one small step for bland, one giant leap for bland-kind.

It may be bloated, but Moonfall always feels like it’s moving at a somewhat brisk pace. And the filmmaker’s greatest talent is collaborating with visual effects teams to craft images that somehow get seared in your brain.

Moonfall is a ridiculous movie on many levels. The story has one fun scifi idea, but the way they go about it, it's just too over the top. The acting is just average and you feel like you can't blame the actors. There are many moments were you get a McGuffin to justify why someone is doing this. Even the big reveal is kind of a let down. That said the visual and sounds effects are really good. The music isn't very interesting. I give it 42%. If you want an apocalypse movie with absolutely no sens of logic, this might be for you. Otherwise it's hard to recommend just on the sympathy for the actors. Emmerich movies are beginning to be too formulaic, just like M. Bay is doing.

It was entertaining to watch at first, even though the plot got silly at points, but the second half of it was just too silly. Like people slam Armageddon which in a way is similar movie, but for me Armageddon is 2x better than this.
